Stuee - a design and new-media blog serves as a showcase, journal and documentation for my design work. It will include ‘behind-the-scenes’ steps in the production process and hopefully provide some insight into what I do and how it is done.
Why?
I believe some transparency and open effective communication between clients (and colleagues) will help promote a better working relationship. This can help to produce a result that meets their desired goals. Happy days!
Yeah, I’ve heard that before…
True, and for that reason I invite you to participate in exploring my production process and creative explorations.
Some ideas might live long and spawn other ideas; while others will be put to rest mercifully after a languid and pitiful existence (the latter might be more frequent) - such is the nature of design work.
You will see it happen in all it’s glory and decay. You will help decide. So please have fun and feel free to ask questions or leave comments.

Who is Stuart Lawson?

Stuart is new-media designer and emerging digital media artist. He has worked for over 13 years in the web and interactive design industry and has created work for the likes of Dreamworld, Virginblue, Symantec, Brisbane International Film Festival, Queensland University of Technology, Australasian CRC for Interaction Design and M-web (SA) to name a few.
Born and raised on South African soil, Stuart later moved to Australia where he furthered his studies by completing a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Communication Design with high distinction at Queensland University of Technology (QUT). Between 2004-2005 he worked as a key contributor and 3d Character Designer/Animator for the highly acclaimed award-winning interactive installation Intimate Transactions.
He now consults as a Designer specialising in Web solutions and User Interface design while working on his own artistic initiatives. Stuart’s current artistic work explores the use of current new-media arts practices and tools in combination with obsolete old media technologies and techniques. This can partly be seen in an upcoming project (2009) he is working on called Knowmore.
